Help IDPs in Ukraine!
IDP is an acronym for internally displaced person,
the term used to indicate those forcibly displaced people who have left
their homes but stay in their country of residence
In other words, these people are
refugees in their own country.
Who are IDPs ?
United Nations Commission on Human Rights defines IDPs as "persons or groups of persons who have been forced or obliged to flee or to leave their homes or places of habitual residence, in particular as a result of or in order to avoid the effects of armed conflict, situations of generalized violence, violations of human rights or natural or human-made disasters, and who have not crossed an internationally recognized border"

displaced persons
In contrast to refugees who are cared for by the Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees of the United Nations (UNHCR), there is no specific UN agency that is responsible for IDP care.
Similar problems,
less support
Like refugees, IDPs need housing, livelihoods and medical services. Just a tiny fraction of their needs is covered by Ukrainian government and international agencies.
Living on
Pause Syndrome
About 70% of IDPs are prone to postponed life syndrome - a well-known phenomenon which means to be stuck in between old and new lives. They are waiting for old life to return.
Who we are
We are a group of volunteers with various multi-faceted humanitarian experiences dating back to 2007. Since the beginning of the "big war" in Ukraine we have decided to coordinate our efforts for humanitarian relief and recovery in Ukraine. Now we have united under one roof: United Activities (public organization).
What we do
Our core beneficiary group is IDP (internally displaced persons). We carry mostly non-supply activities in their favor: employability, social cohesion, education and medical services accessibility programs.
The second group to take care about is CSOs (civil community organizations) - NGOs, charities and communities. For this group we arrange educational and networking events, coordination meetings in order to assist their institutional growth and development.
Where we act
At the moment, we are active in Southern Ukraine (Odesa, Kherson and Mykolaiv regions) and Dnipro region. These activities are managed through UNITED ACTIVITIES permanent offices situated in Odesa and Dnipro. We are open for cooperation with other organizations from all over Ukraine to deliver maximum impact from our projects.
